Add section in Blogger Sidebar

Hello!

Add a section in Blogger Sidebar is very easy, even I created it!! <span class=

This mini tutorial is based in Rounders 4 template, maybe if you try to add a new section in others template could be that doesn't run well, I'm not a computer expert neutral

Ok, let's do it!!

First of all... made a template backup (Dashboard -> Template -> Edit HTML -> Download Full Template) and keep it save razz

1) In Edit HTML select "Expand Widget Templates"
2) In the template find this section:

/* Variable definitions
====================

And add this code below

3)In the template find this section:

/* Sidebar Boxes
-------------------------*/

And add this code below

4) Put this code in the place where you want to show your new section, usually above to:
<div id='footer-wrap1'><div id='footer-wrap2'>

And save the template!!

Now in Edit Layout appear a new section in your sidebar, which you can change the color background, the color of the links, words.

This method is the same for adding more and more sections in your blog, only you have to change the number and little few things. If you need more information to how to do it, write a comment wink

Easy, don't you?

If you have some problem or you need some help, write a comment or send me your question here.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. In the post is stated:
"Now in Edit Layout appear a new section in your sidebar, which you can change the color background, the color of the links, words."

I don't see any "Edit Layout" in the Layout. I only see "Colors and fonts" tab in the Layout, but for that, there is no option to change the background color.

Any extra information you can provide will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

hi!

Inside the folder "Template" you can find 4 sub-folder: Page element, Fonts & Colors, Edit HTML and Pick new template.

Page Element:
Here you can add page element in the new section, Picture

Fonts & Colors:
Here in the top-left you'll find a list with all the possibles colors variables; one of this variables are the new section (usually Bottom sidebar Two background color, text color, link color and visited link color) picture

I'm going to edit the post and provide more information ;)

Hi Ignasi,

Thanks for extra info. In this link
Edit colors, the arrow points to "Visited link color" not "Background color". Any clarification highly appreciated.

Hi Peter,

Well... Maybe I draw the arrow in a wrong place, but I think that the idea is to show here you can change your colors and fonts. :)

Anyway, Thank you!

Hi "I did it again"!

I sow your blog and you don't need to create the "sidebar boxes"

Check in your template the section which start with:
/* ---( sidebar )--- */

be sure that the variable definitions and the sidebar boxes code match.

If you need something more... here I'm!

Que vaya bien!! Adíos!
